Advanced Buyers Agents ("we", "us", "our") respects your privacy. This policy explains what personal information we collect, why we collect it, how we handle it, and the choices you have. We handle personal information in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles.
Advanced Buyers Agents is a licensed buyer's agency operating on the Northern Beaches and across Sydney, New South Wales. We act exclusively for buyers. We do not list or sell property, and we do not act for vendors in the transactions we work on.
We only collect information that is reasonably necessary for our work. Depending on how you engage with us, that may include:
If you enrol in our free course, we collect your name and mobile number so we can send you the course and follow up. You can ask us to stop contacting you at any time.
We use personal information to respond to enquiries, provide our buyer's agency services, search for and assess properties, negotiate on your behalf, deliver the free course and related resources, meet our legal and licensing obligations, and improve our website and service.
If you have given us your details we may send you market updates, case studies or course material. Every message includes an unsubscribe option, and you can reply STOP to any SMS or contact us directly to opt out. Opting out of marketing does not affect any service we are already providing you.
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only where it is necessary to do our job or where the law requires it, including with conveyancers and solicitors you engage, building and pest inspectors, mortgage brokers or lenders where you ask us to, selling agents strictly to the extent needed to make and negotiate an offer, and service providers who host our website, email and CRM systems.
Our website is hosted by Webflow and our customer records are held in cloud based systems that may store data on servers outside Australia, including in the United States. Where information is disclosed overseas we take reasonable steps to ensure it is handled consistently with the Australian Privacy Principles.
Our website uses cookies to keep the site working properly and to understand how it is used. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Some parts of the site may not work as intended if you do.
We take reasonable steps to protect personal information from misuse, loss, unauthorised access, modification and disclosure. We keep information only as long as we need it for the purpose it was collected or as required by law, then destroy or de-identify it.
You can ask us for a copy of the personal information we hold about you, and ask us to correct it if it is wrong or out of date. We will respond within a reasonable period. In limited circumstances we may refuse access, and if we do we will explain why in writing.
If you think we have mishandled your personal information, contact us first and we will investigate and respond. If you are not satisfied with our response, you can raise the matter with the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au or on 1300 363 992.
To ask a question about this policy, request access to your information, or opt out of marketing, please get in touch through our contact page.
Contact Advanced Buyers AgentsWe may update this policy from time to time. The current version is always the one published on this page, with the date shown at the top.
We may contact you with market updates, case studies or course material where you have given us express consent, or where consent is implied because you are an existing client, you have made an enquiry with us, or you have conspicuously published your business contact details without stating that you do not want to receive marketing.
In line with Australian Privacy Principle 7 and the Spam Act 2003 (Cth), every marketing message we send identifies us, includes our contact details, and carries a clear and functional unsubscribe option that works for at least 30 days. You can also reply STOP to any SMS, or contact us directly and we will action it. We honour opt out requests promptly and at no cost to you.
We will not use or disclose your personal information for any purpose other than the one it was collected for, including marketing, unless you would reasonably expect it and it is related to that original purpose, or you have consented, or the law requires it. If you tell us not to use your information for direct marketing, we will stop, and we will also tell you where we obtained your details if you ask.
We limit collection to what is reasonably necessary to represent you as a buyer. We do not ask for irrelevant or excessive personal detail, and we do not request more financial documentation than the transaction genuinely requires. If you choose not to provide certain information we will tell you what effect that has on the service we can offer.
Where we collect information in person, for example at an inspection, we take reasonable steps to keep those records secure so other people cannot view, copy or photograph them, and we make that information available to you on request.
When your personal information is no longer needed for the purpose it was collected, and we are not required by law to keep it, we destroy or de-identify it. Destroying means putting it genuinely beyond retrieval, not simply archiving it. De-identifying means removing enough that you can no longer be identified from the information. We apply the same standard to records held in third party CRM and cloud platforms on our behalf.
We maintain a data breach response plan. If a breach occurs that is likely to result in serious harm to you, we will contain and assess it, notify you, and notify the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner, in accordance with the Notifiable Data Breaches scheme.
There is never a charge for making a request to access the personal information we hold about you. We may charge a reasonable fee for providing that access, covering the cost of locating, assembling, reproducing and sending the information. Any such fee will be modest, explained to you in advance, and never used to discourage a request.
We review this policy and our internal privacy practices at least annually, and whenever our systems, service providers or legal obligations change, so that what is written here reflects what we actually do.
